We wanted to share a selection of upcoming webinars and new resources focusing on Health Technology Assessment (HTA), patient involvement, and Patient Experience Data (PED) that may be useful for patient organisations and advocates.

Beyond Patient Knowledge to Inform Decision-Making - Lessons from HTA

Dr Karen Facey and Dr Anke Peggy Holtorf will explore how patient involvement in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) has evolved, including the difference between patient participation in HTA processes and research gathering patient-based evidence. They will also present new work on “patient knowledge”, latest methods, and examples of patient involvement in HTA from different countries and stakeholders.

📊 PED Essentials – New Learning Hub for Patient Organisations

PED essentials is a new online learning hub designed to help patient organizations and advocates generate, analyze, and use Patient Experience Data (PED) with confidence. Developed together with patient partners and subject matter experts from the GPPI community, PED Essentials aims to make practical, high-quality learning accessible to anyone who wants to strengthen their understanding and use of patient experience data. There is a special webinar to celebrate the launch of PED essentials:

HTA: Health technology assessment: Webinar for patients and clinical experts

📅 Thursday 24 September

Chairs and Co-chairs of the Member State Coordination Group on HTA will explain the processes for joint clinical assessments and joint scientific consultations, with a focus on how patients, carers and clinical experts can be involved. The European Commission’s HTA Secretariat will also demonstrate its HTA IT Platform and how to provide input to assessments and consultations.
