We are pleased to share the latest contribution to our Voices of Sarcoma series, featuring Lidiya Vitanova, psychologist and founder of Together Fighting Sarcoma in Bulgaria.

In this deeply personal story, Lidiya reflects on losing her son to osteosarcoma and how that experience became the foundation for her work to improve awareness, access to information, specialist care, and patient pathways for people affected by sarcoma in Bulgaria.

📣 Raising awareness, strengthening pathways in Bulgaria

Lidiya reflects on the importance of raising awareness about sarcoma and the impact of Together Fighting Sarcoma’s first national campaign on sarcoma symptoms in Bulgaria. Bringing together medical experts, patients and families, the campaign helped bring sarcoma into the public conversation and highlight the importance of access to specialised expertise.

The campaign was recognised this year with a SPAGN Advocacy in Action Award, celebrating the work behind this important step for the sarcoma community in Bulgaria.
