✨ Highlights from ASCO 2026
  • ⭐ The phase III SARC041 trial in dedifferentiated liposarcoma met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a significant progression-free survival benefit with abemaciclib. The study was also selected for presentation in the ASCO Plenary Session—an uncommon distinction for a sarcoma trial.

  • 🎯 Important advances in GIST, including positive phase III results for bezuclastinib plus sunitinib and encouraging data for the investigational KIT inhibitor velzatinib.

  • 📈 The phase III RINGSIDE trial in desmoid tumors showed a substantial reduction in the risk of disease progression and further supports gamma-secretase inhibition as a treatment strategy.

  • 🧬 New data in rare sarcoma subtypes—including alveolar soft part sarcoma, clear cell sarcoma, and conventional chondrosarcoma—highlighted continued efforts to expand treatment options in underserved diseases.

  • 🔬 Updated results for engineered T-cell therapy (afami-cel) demonstrated durable activity in selected patients with synovial sarcoma and myxoid/round cell liposarcoma.

  • 🩸 Research on biomarkers and tumor biology, including circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), provided additional insights into more personalized approaches to sarcoma care.
Take a closer look at the key sarcoma presentations and takeaways from ASCO 2026.
