Breaking Barriers: Sarcoma Survivor’s Mission to Overcome Disparities in India

By Sandeep Kumar

At just 13 years old, Sandeep Kumar faced a sarcoma diagnosis in a remote village of Uttar Pradesh — where diagnosis was delayed and care was nearly out of reach. Today, as a survivor and founder of DigiSwasthya Foundation, he’s working to close the rural cancer care gap through community-driven telemedicine.

From health camps to mobile screening units, Sandeep’s story shows how local innovation and lived experience can reshape access to care.

A View from Brazil: Why International Networks Matter

By Dr. Fernando Campos

Dr. Campos, a medical oncologist at A.C.Camargo Cancer Center in São Paulo, reflects on the complex reality of sarcoma care in Brazil — where long travel distances, delayed diagnoses, and unequal access persist. He shares why international collaboration, like that within SPAGN and SELNET, is not just symbolic but essential to progress.

With insight into Latin American advocacy, training, and research, his blog is a call to include diverse voices in global solutions.
