Dear SPAGN Members and Friends,

We are excited to share that the results of the second phase of the Sarcoma Patient Advocacy Global Network (SPAGN) Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) have just been published in “BMC Cancers”. This initiative has been instrumental in identifying crucial research and advocacy priorities for sarcoma patients and their carers.

All the best from the
SPAGN Board of Directors & Team

🔬 Research Priorities:
  1. Causes of Sarcoma

  2. Prognosis and Risk of Recurrence

  3. More Research for specific Sarcoma Subtypes

  4. The Role of Immunotherapy and Targeted Therapies

  5. Hereditary Aspects in Sarcomas
🗣️  Patient Advocacy Priorities:
  1. Enhancing the Diagnostic Process

  2. Access to Tumor DNA Analysis

  3. Establishing an International Sarcoma Registry
🌐 Impact on the Sarcoma Community

These findings will help steer future research, aid funding agencies in project assessment, and strengthen the role of patient advocates in representing our community's needs. By aligning research with the actual needs of patients and carers, we can ensure more effective and targeted treatments.

We encourage you to read the full publication in “BMC Cancer” for a comprehensive understanding of the survey and its impactful results here.
