Dear SPAGN Members and Friends,

Especially for people living with rare conditions like sarcomas, established standard therapies often are not available. Clinical trials might offer new treatment options, while receiving close medical care at a specialized center.

SPAGN´s Study Directory brings together ongoing clinical trials from around the world in one place. It includes studies for soft tissue sarcomas, bone sarcomas, GIST, desmoid tumours and TGCT, as well as links to national trial databases maintained by trusted medical organisations.

Whether you have recently been diagnosed, are looking for new treatment options, or simply want to stay informed about current research:

👉 Check out the SPAGN Study Directory and discover the latest clinical trials available for sarcoma patients worldwide. This issue focusses on soft tissue sarcoma trials. Please expect more information on other indications in the near future.

All the best from the

Clinical trials for indication soft tissue sarcomas

  • STC-15 (a METTL3 inhibitor) in combination with Toripalimab: Assesses the safety, tolerability and antitumor activity of STC-15 in combination with toripalimab in advanced sarcomas of selected types (e.g. DD liposarcoma, leiomyosarcoma)
  • Tebentafusp in HLA-A*02:01 Positive Patients With Advanced Clear Cell Sarcoma: Assesses the feasibility and safety of a therapy with Tebentafusp in patients with unresectable or metastatic clear cell sarcoma (CCS).
  • GD2-SADA:177 Lu-DOTA: This study evaluates a pre-targeted radioimmunotherapy in a two step approach in soft tissue or bone sarcomas and other malignancies: GD2-SADA binds to tumor cells carrying the protein GD2. 177Lu-DOTA is a radioactive compound that attaches to GD2-SADA.
  • ATLAS: Focusses on safety and efficacy of [Ac225]RTX-2358 in patients with advanced soft tissue sarcoma. A diagnostic imaging test is performed upfront to identify suitable patients.
  • SCOPES-II: Compares a shortened course of radiotherapy prior to surgery with the standard procedure in patients with soft tissue sarcomas.
  • DS-2243a: This study tests a new drug, DS-2243a, in patients with certain cancers incl. synovial sarcoma and myxoid/round cell liposarcoma to find the safest and most effective dose.
  • STRASS2: Investigates if chemotherapy before surgery (preoperative/neoadjuvant) has a benefit versus surgery alone in patients with high risk retroperitoneal sarcomas (e.g. leiomyosarcomas or liposarcomas).

Spotlight on ADC trials for soft tissue sarcomas

Antibody drug conjugates (ADC) are a relatively new type of cancer medicine. They combine a tumor cell specific antibody with a cytotoxic (anticancer) drug payload. ADC therapies can address tumor tissue more specifically than regular systemic chemotherapies and can thus spare healthy tissue.

  • ADCElerate1: Evaluates safety and efficacy of ADCE-D01, a humanized anti-human uPARAP antibody, which is linked to a Topoisomerase I Inhibitor, targeting patients with metastatic and/or unresectable soft tissue sarcoma.
  • M3554 in advanced solid tumors incl. soft-tissue sarcomas: Aims to determine the best dose of a new treatment, M3554, and to check its safety and early signs of effectiveness in treating soft tissue sarcoma (STS).
  • AVA6000 in advanced solid tumors incl. soft tissue sarcomas: Evaluates the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) and early efficacy of AVA6000 in patients with locally advanced and/or metastatic solid tumours incl. soft tissue sarcomas.
